Our meetings have a living room feel most of the time. We have an eclectic assortment of couches and chairs. Gatherings are more on the informal side. Worship/ singing times are interactive and usually include the kids. We value honesty and humor and emphasize that the church is the family of God.
Children's Ministry
We value the interaction our kids have with the larger church community. Kids are involved in worship with the entire group and also particpate in children's church activities designed to help them become familiar with the Bible and learn about Jesus and the nature of God from an early age. We schedule special events for our kids from time to time to give them special focus.
Communion
We celebrate Communion almost every week at Aletheia, which serves as a weekly opportunity to reflect on Christ's sacrifice on our behalf and our own connectedness as His family brought together by His death and resurrection.
Sunday Meals
Most weeks we eat lunch together at Aletheia, prepared by different members of the group. We've found this to be a great time to get to know each other better and to encourage and strengthen each other in our faith.
Interactive Teaching
At Aletheia we try and rotate teaching responsibilities as much as possible to allow for a variety of perspectives and also to help provide teaching experience to those who are developing their spiritual gifts. Most of the time the lessons are interactive teachings rather than sermons, giving everyone in attendance the chance to ask questions, share personal experiences, and respond to points the teacher is making. We rotate between teaching series on books of the bible and topical series to acheive a balance in educational focus.
